Comment: The atmosphere was so cozy and the food was deliciousness! We had the Bibimbap which was fresh and savory and spicy (my wife’s fave) the Chicken Katsu, which reminded me of my childhood and love for katsu, and a few rolls! Their ginger salad is so good with a citrus flavor and that makes it extra refreshing. I forgot the name of the rolls… but one had eel the other had shrimp tempura and cream cheese, but they were on point! Their service was super courteous and kind as well! Will def come here again~

Comment: Sushi was SO GOOD but even better- the service was outstanding and the dining room was MUCH nicer than I expected. Our usual sushi place couldn’t get us in tonight but I’m so glad because we discovered 153 Sushi! It was a fantastic experience from beginning to end and I think we found a new sushi place! Comment: 153 Sushi was great, they had so many choices to choose from! When receiving Sashimi, I realized I had to take a picture, each piece tasted amazing. The chef was great, he checked on us a few times to make sure everything was fine. Roll and Tempura were also perfect in both texture and taste. Had all the great experiences here ending with yummy Udon. Strongly recommend this restaurant, I will definitely return!!!

Comment: This place is awesome. The white tuna tastes like butter and the salmon is amazing. The fish has always been fresh and delicious. Chef Ben is a whiz with fish and has always been courteous and friendly with Steve and me. We love coming here. Its the first place that has ever made me crave sushi. Even when we did carry out during COVID-19, it was still amazing. Staff is lovely and I couldnt ask for more. Definitely try this place of you havent already.

Comment: Here from out of town on business. Was recommended to by local colleagues and they did not disappoint. We ordered the Yaki Soba (w/ chicken), Chicken Fried Rice, Geisha Roll and the Kentucky Roll. Everything was prepared wonderfully. The Yaki Soba had the perfect blend of spicy with savory. The flavor of the tuna (and quantity) inside the Geisha Roll was perfect. The Chicken fried rice was amazing for such a simple dish. And the Spicy Tuna within the Kentucky Roll was by far some of the best heat Ive had in sushi. 10/10 will return before heading home. (Kentucky Roll in photo)

Comment: 153 Sushi has very high quality food. We ordered gyoza, chicken Kara age, and the sushi b platter. Gyoza looked to be made in house and was very fresh. The Kara age was very well done and perfectly fried. The sushi we ordered was amazing. Some of the best sushi Ive had in STL. Large pieces of fish that were super fresh. Also, the spicy tuna roll actually has some spice.Would recommend this place to anyone.

Comment: This is some of the best sushi I’ve had - including some high-end spots in Japan - and by far the best I’ve had in St. Louis. The place is owned by a fantastic family, who are working hard to grow the business. Make sure to sit at the sushi bar whenever possible and enjoy watching Ben (owner) create fantastic dishes!Those who left poor reviews regarding service should give the place another chance and appreciate that a small, family-owned and run business is going to have growing pains... Maybe even consider actually speaking with the owners to let them know about any issues - instead of posting reviews like wannabe food critics.

Comment: First time going here. I got the Nevada roll and 2 shrimp tempura rolls to-go. Wait was about 15mins for a walk in order. Rolls had good flavor and tasted fresh. expensive for no specialty meats...about $30 for 3 rolls. But I really enjoyed it and the staff member i dealt with was friendly. Rolls came with ginger, chopsticks and 3 small packets of soy sauce . There was also a 153 sushi sticker in my bag that has their logo and number on it.

Comment: To give a little background, Ive been to many restaurants. That said, this one has a special place since it is the one restaurant where I feel that I consistently have what you call a dining experience. What I mean is that, I actually take the time to enjoy what Ben (the owner) creates. Ive eaten at other places and have wolfed down the food quickly because it was tasty, but at this restaurant I feel that I am eating art.The ambiance of the place is also unique. It conveys an atmosphere of peace and tranquility through what I call refined simplicity. There is a feel of luxury without an aura of intimidation; which is something I feel when you go to very high class restaurants.Also, if you sit at the bar and become a regular, Ben goes out of his way to know you and make small chat. It gives you a very Cheers feel to bar dining experience. And from those small chats you learn that Ben is good at what he does because he has more thorough understanding of things that affect how his dishes taste; like the time he told me that the humidity can affect the crispiness of his seaweed that he uses for sushi.If there were anything bad I had to think of, it would only have to be that the hours seem kind of limited, but that isnt a bad thing because like I said, I feel that I am eating art, and every artist needs the proper amount of rest and preparation to perform their best which is what Ben delivers.

Comment: Very good Sushi. The place is clean and crisp. Dinner time was pretty quiet. I was on the bar and the owner was very very friendly. He spoke so nice, we had a good conversation. Ask him next time to make the Sushi the way it is made in Japan and he will do it for you. It may taste different but he will do it for you. If you are a yelper they have a deal for pay 15 get 20 deal. They accept it gladly.

Comment: We went to this sushi house recently! loved the service! our waiter was wonderful & very knowledgeable- i learned a lot about sushi! not to mention friendly!waters were filled multiple times- and impressed by the dynamite roll! YUM! also the spicy tuna roll-yummy!only downside i would say is price for sashimi- a bit high for what you get. would come back if prices were more reasonable- you can get other sashimi in the area for a decent bargain.

Comment: Ive been to many sushi restaurants in my life, but this one is the best Ive been to. It is the closest to real Japanese cuisine (they even have Ramune!), and their staff are really nice. It deserves more attention though (all the times I went no one was there).
