The chefs are always doing a spectacular job and give us and everyone else excellent food every time! Comment: Kyoto is a great location to stop in and get sushi. The wait is usually not very long, and there is a lot of seating. The appetizers are vast in number as well as the choices of sushi. The sushi chefs make everything in the open, and its cool to watch the hibachi portion. It is very good as well and is always a nice event and way to eat with family and friends. Happy hour sushi and drinks is Wednesday nights and is a great way to enjoy sushi at a lower price. Some of the booths are very worn and can be uncomfortable to sit on. This is overall a must try stop in Edwardsville.

The hibachi experience is just what you’d expect. The kids loved it as did the adults. Try a saki shot from the chef and have fun with the “emotional chicken” for the kiddos. We all got different hibachi meals and none disappointed. Also, it’s nice to have a cocktail that actually has alcohol in it! Great job! Will be back!

We ordered chicken hibachi veggie hibachi and salmon hibachi. We informed them that we did have a shellfish allergy as well. Theyre very clean very excited participated well with the baby in the table and made her feel welcome. He was fabulous knowing how to engage with the birthday girl (six) and rest of the adults in the family. The grandmas probably have abs from all the laughter. The Restaurant gave us a one of a kind experience.Be sure to make a reservation if time isn’t flexible for you. I didn’t think to do it because it was a Wednesday, but we had an hour wait!That hour was well worth it. Comment: I didnt partake in the hibachi but elected to sit at the bar. I ordered several sushi rolls, which were amazing. I also had some fried rice, however I must admit I wasnt too impressed. For you wine drinkers, the bartender tends to fill the wine to the top of the glass, and he said this is common procedure. Overall, great place, good food, give it a try.

Comment: Last night we celebrated our sons birthday. When I say this place was AMAZING!!! From the food, the atmosphere, but most of all the SERVICE! Kyoto understands great customer service and believe in giving their customers a great experience. At first I had a party of 20, which ended up being a party of 26. With no hesitation, we were accommodated with ease. If you drive by and see the parking lot packed, as it usually is, understand theres a great reason why. Thank you to the entire staff. You helped make my sons birthday one to remember for sure!!

Comment: Kyoto has the best lunch deals around! Their bento boxes are loaded with delicious foods and will surely fill you up. Their hibachi is the best around and sushi is absolutely the freshest I’ve had being away from the ocean. I always have A+ service when I come regardless if it’s a party of 2 or 10. I will continue to give them my business and spread good feedback. My favorite sushi rolls on the menu are their spicy tuna and spicy salmon. The tuna and salmon they use are delicious. I also favor the tuna and salmon sashimi. The salmon literally melts in your mouth. My favorite appetizers are the Beef Negimaki and Veggie Tempura. My favorite dishes aside from their hibachi are the Avocado Tuna Salad and the Sashimi Deluxe. If I’m not getting a bento box that is... all of the bentos are good. Literally all of them. The chicken that comes with the dinner bento boxes is yum!!! Okay I’m hungry now... enjoy!

Comment: My wife and I just dined here last week. This was our first time since it opened a few years ago. We had no wait time even though it was pretty busy. Overall, service and food were both pretty good. My wife ordered hibachi chicken, I ordered hibachi steak, and we shared a sushi sampler. The sushi was a 5 piece Ngiri sampler and the fish was fresh and tender. The hibachi chef was friendly, quick, efficient and skilled. While I wasnt wowed by anything, hibachi is not my favorite meal. I didnt really have any criticisms, and my wife loved the meal and the plum wine. For those who like hibachi, this is a great location!

Make sure you get the hibachi grill that way the food is most delicious. Its still very good even if you dont sit at the grill. We have never had a bad experience here. Comment: We ordered here tonight and I’m so happy we did. We moved to the Alton area back in October, and was ultimately disappointed with the few sushi places we tried in the area. Tonight my parents were coming into town, so I placed an order for pick up on their way in. We got 7 rolls, for four of us, because the last few dining establishments the rolls were rather small. Every single roll we had was delicious, and so filling, we had about 3 rolls left over, which I am so excited for lunch tomorrow now! Jason took our order over the phone, and having nine years in food service, customer service is very important to me. He was absolutely fantastic and patient. Any sushi from now on in our household will be gotten here. The only comparable sushi I’ve had was in San Diego. Thank you all so much for making our quarantine sushi slump so much better. Can’t wait until every thing clears up and we can come enjoy in house!

Comment: This was me and my dads lunch together. We were expecting okay food and okay service. We recieved amazing food and amazing service. Our server and bartender were awesome, he went above and beyond in order to make sure we had a great meal. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with our server being there just when we needed something. Our glasses were always full and food was delivered quickly after order, despite many other tables being filled. I ordered the Sunny Roll and our server recommended that we put a drop of sriracha sauce on the top. It was amazing! Try the miso soup and the onion soup both have amazing flavor. For dessert I ordered the tempura ice cream and I was greeted with a giant ball of fried ice cream with TWO spoons! It was delicious, and here is where the bartender comes in. He said from behind the bar, Do you guys like chocolate? I responded, Uh, Yeah. He proceeded to walk to our table with a small bottle of chocolate syrup, said that he used to design desserts and there was not enough chocolate, and covered our ice cream with chocolate! It made it even better than it already was. All in all, a great meal with a cheap 9.99 lunch deal, and a great server. We sat in the dining room and plan to come back for the hibachi room!

Comment: There are two different experiences there. You can eat in the typical dining room or you can sit at a hibachi grill and have the chef prepare the food in front of you. A nice varied menu of sushi and other Japanese dishes. Have tried several and they were uniformly excellent. Prices are about as expected at a Steakhouse, around $30/per person wo liquor.

Comment: We’ve been here twice since they opened, once for regular seating and meals and once for hibachi. Both times we had good food and service. Adi was our server tonight at hibachi and he was wonderful and funny! He took a liking to my sons and after we had paid he still brought out special treats for my kids even though we were not celebrating anything. He went above and beyond!My only complaint, and the reason for the loss of a star, is that my lobster was a little over cooked. Lobster is expensive and to have it be a bit chewy is a shame.

I dont like that, but know they do it to keep moving to new tables. A cleanup happens when you leave table. Id be OK if cleanup followed the cook.

Comment: Went for my brother’s college graduation party. Food was excellent—philly maki rolls and mochi for dessert, and others had hibachi dinners. Service was great. The waiter saw how much I loved the mochi and brought seconds, then packed a carry out of more to take home! I recommended the place highly.
