Comment: What a terrific lunch! It was a pleasure to pop in and sample a few hot apps. The octopus cakes with bonito flakes was wildly good! The chicken and pork gyoza are so crispy and rich. The place is in great area, surrounded by some of our favorite casual and tasty spots.The waitress was a delight, the sushi was very, very, very tasty, the cocktails were on a weaker side but still ok. The birthday shot, though- absolutely delicious!We tried three different specialty rolls: rainbow, lohi, and Tokyo. We enjoyed them all but ended up ordering a second round of the Tokyo. It was so good.The gluten free options were clearly marked on the menu.Will come back again for sure!

My friend is visiting from Illinois and we were in the area and starving so we happened upon this place during happy hour. It’s from 4-6 and fantastic! Our waiter was an absolute gem and we’re so grateful he put up with our shenanigans.The atmosphere was unbelievable. So stunning. We were super grateful they were able to accomodate our (last minute) party of 6 with a cute lil booth out on the back porch area! The restaurant itself is very hip and hype with a live DJ playing and lots of buzz around. Located conveniently right off of I-25 near downtown Denver.The garlic edamame was a table favorite, and the kobe beef buns were tasty. My friend and I split a bottle of the pink Sayuri unfiltered sake and it was sooo cute it came with a little sparkler, not to mention delicious. Had the Vegas roll for dinner and was great! Dragon roll was also delicious, and the cherry blossom looked beautiful, though I didnt try it because I was wayy too full.Would most definitely visit again for a fun sushi night in Denver :)

Comment: I went to this place on a recommendation from a friend and was just blown away. The atmosphere is beautiful, very cozy and well thought out. The food was just out of this world! I had the spicy edamame and a few sushi rolls and was left speechless. The service was just as incredible and our server recommended an incredible drink called Fruity pebbles which tasted just as the name suggests. I plan on visiting this place again very soon to continue trying all the other incredible dishes on their menu. Highly recommend!

There was a full bar and sushi bar with fresh herb growing in planters above the station. I loved the atmosphere although I was expecting soothing Japanese music. They were having trouble with the radio station they were using the day I went. There was seating on the patio, but we opted to eat inside. The food was wonderful, I had the ramen I had been craving. The place was very decorated to the maximum, the environment was nice and the dj was playing good music that not necessarily aligned with the type of restaurant but it lifted the spirit. The quality of the sushi was really good. I loved the flavor of the scallops on the roll and the ratio from meat to rice was perfect. I didn’t believe it was overpriced, I think the price is right to what you get. The service was fast for a Saturday night. The eel nigiri was so yummy. I recommend it for sure! Definitely will go again to try the duck Ramen or the poke bowls.

Comment: The service was great, the food was delicious, and the menu has great variety. The fish for nigiri was super fresh and tasty, especially the salmon, and the blackened cod entree was perfectly done. I also appreciated that the restaurant had dog-friendly tables outside. I will definitely be coming back for more nigiri and to sample their sake and whiskey menu.

Comment: This place is a fantastic sushi joint in one of the most desirable locations in Denver (lohi) . Starting off The service is good. Look for Johnny or any of the helpful waitstaff even on a super busy night to be glad you’re there and treat you like a priority. The two best rolls I’ve found are the Tokyo and the Mizu. These were actually recommended successfully. I really like them because there is a good amount of fish on them even though the roll itself isn’t huge. I’m also a fan of their ramen dishes. Specifically the one with pork in it. The drinks are fancy and well made and their tequila selection is impressive.Denverites love this place. It’s a great date spot. The ambiance both on the patio and inside are both equally appealing. The Patio is good for people watching in lohi lining up outside little man ice cream. inside is great lightening, a vibrant feel, and people dressed nice enjoying their lives. What really works the best here is you get everything of a great sushi place and you’re not overpaying for it. That makes the value significantly higher. I will certainly be back.

Comment: This restaurant is a vibe!Mizu is a very trendy, packed, and booming. The restaurant is not very intimate, it’s actually perfect for large groups and mingling with other people. It’s pretty noisy but vibrant.They have a private room where people get to sit on the floor like traditional Japanese restaurants. That room is great for parties or large groups.They have a good amount of outdoor seating which was covered with curtains and gave it a semi outdoor and good vibe feels. The outdoor seating patio part surrounds the parameter of the restaurant and flows seamlessly from inside the restaurant.The food was delicious. They had a good selection of sushi. Although I was disappointed they didn’t do tradition hand rolls. I expected a place that advertised authentic Japanese style cuisine with a mix of Colorado spin to at least do hand rolls. The waiter said they did do hand rolls but when I got my salmon roll it was literally a regular salmon roll with one end wrapped in seaweed.Another reason why I didn’t rate this place a 5 star is because I had booked reservations through Open Table for 8pm. They did not seat my guest and me until almost 8:30pm. They do not have time limits on tables which I think they should so they can seat those with reservations on time.Also, they were not strict with masks or social distancing. All staff members wore masks but guests were not enforced. I personally did not of an issue with this this but just in case someone else is.Our waiter was very nice and we did have good service. Overall, I had a great time here and definitely think Mizu can achieve 5 star with little tweaks.I would recommend this spot for good sushi and a good time for sure!

Located in the heart of Lo-Hi, the atmosphere of Mizu had a casual-Colorado style within hints of Japanese décor. The open-air design perfectly showcased the warm Spring afternoon. There was also a private dining room that looked really inviting!The takoyaki (stuffed octopus wheat cakes) and hamachi nigiri (yellowtail) were some of the best we had ever tasted!The nigiri and sashimi portions seemed very generous and the quality tasted superior. Steve and Evan also really enjoyed the hotategai (scallop nigiri).If we wanted to be a little critical, we could say a couple of the rolls we ordered were a little strange. The Philadelphia roll had so much cream cheese, that it seemed like it should be served on a bagel. The specialty Mizu roll made with a shiso leaf and many other ingredients had an odd mouthfeel.To end on a positive note:The hot sakes were aflowin, while the sushi rolls kept a rollin would be the song lyrics that described our pleasurable birthday meal honoring Steve! Yes...we ordered way too much for three people. :)

The ambiance of the place in general fits the price tag, which is always a good sign.Now, the food, was superb. I ordered the lobster wontons ($18) to start which are steamed and come with vegetables that all taste wonderful. For a main meal I ordered the beef short rib ($22, website seems slightly outdated, heads up), which the server said was popular. It was filling and delicious with some wonderfully made vegetables as well. The entire meal was top notch.As for the server, Alex, she was very attentive and professional, with a bright smile every time she came over. I enjoyed the experience and she fit the ambiance and good well.Overall, top notch experience and would gladly take a date here or potentially have a casual business meal.

Comment: We were visiting Denver with a large group of people and had the private room here. Overall the food was really great and after a little slowness at the beginning with our service, they redeemed themselves. The one caution about the private room is youre basically sitting on the floor. After a bit of time it becomes very uncomfortable. I would highly recommend NOT eating in the private dining or the restaurant should consider making this a normal table. I get its part of the environment, but theres not enough rooms to be able to really enjoy eating that low to the ground.

It was very loud and distracting, and significantly impacted our service. It took over an hour to get our sushi rolls. The decor and the wait staff were fantastic, however, the event significantly affected our experience.
