Comment: We had burritos here with the Hamachi (one of our favorite fishes for sushi). Lately its been hard to find a good sushi poke place it seems but this place was great! I had the Hamachi Crunch Poke Burrito and my wife made her own burrito. Both were stellar. The service was fast (we were the only order in queue) and place was clean and fairly big with the tables nicely spaced out. I saved the place as well definitely make more trips in the future! The portion size is good, costs a little bit more than what we thought we would get with the portion (at least for the burrito) so well try the bowl and other options in the future!

Comment: After eating at Motomaki dozens of times, it’s about time I posted a review. I love a good poke bowl, as well as the ability to add specific toppings. Motomaki delivers, and does so consistently. I particularly like salmon poke, and I’ve found with other restaurants that the salmon is not always fresh, cut in chunks that are too large, or has bones. I’ve never had those problems with motomaki. The add ons are always fresh and delicious. There are a few surprising add ons that I’ve come to really love, like bacon.I love the Hawaiian salmon bowl, but my young kids are obsessed with the mochico chicken. It’s actually the only type of protein that I can get my two year old to consistently eat.A few pro tips: order online, and start with one of the pre-existing bowls and customize it. This is way less expensive than building your own. Additionally, the happy hour prices are great.Overall I highly recommend this restaurant.

Comment: Second time ordering the shrimp tempura bowl for lunch. Very easy to order in the app and go in and pick up. The food is delicious. I am taking off one star today because I had a very rude employee interaction. My order included a fountain drink and when he handed me the bag, I asked about the drink, and he just pointed at me and kind of grunted. I said thanks for the bag and looked around for cups. I asked again about the drink, and he again just kind of grunted, and when I looked puzzled, he yelled and mimed at me “open the bag”. I replied “geez, thanks that’s all that’s all you had to say.” And then he got real argumentative saying “well, that’s what I said - didn’t I say that”. And I said, “actually, you didn’t speak at all.” He was wearing a mask so I couldn’t see when he actually moved his lips.Point is, I am the customer and he was incredibly rude and condescending and unpleasant. I’ll probably get food from here again, but I am disappointed by the customer service and just the general attitude by kids these days.

Never actually knew of a Motomaki before now, which made this place even more exciting.First things first; The place is set up like a facier deli bar, where you order and they make the whole meal right there behind glass. Therr is also a digital kiosk if youre unsure of what you want out the gate.The place has some pretty decent dining seats, and the music is not all too loud, which makes it comfortable.And the food was pretty great! The Hawaiian isnt as sweet as I originally expected it to be, even had some spice to it.

There wasnt any other customers and we had to get someone to take our order and apparently that was a inconvenience for that individual. We had questions since it was our first time and all we got was attitude and read the menu.After several months we stopped there again for lunch on our way back up the hill. We used the kiosk this time. One in our party ordered a bottle of water with their meal. It was missing when our order was up. It was on the ticket and on the receipt. We mentioned the missing item and the individual behind the counter huffed and begrudgingly went to grab it and slammed it down on the counter. Seems the service has remained the same

Comment: Been coming in here since they opened. Great little hidden gem. Used to go to the one downtown but they recently closed. You can get a big sushi burrito for $17-$20. Join their rewards program and you get a free one on your birthday. I recommend the shrimp tempura roll with a side of sweet soy. There staff could be friendlier but that is common these days with younger workers. Hoping one day someone will actually take my order instead of a machine.

Also it is done at a kiosk and they only have 2 there we could see. So you have to be patient (only reason for a 4 star versus 5). Hopefully they open one soon in Colorado Springs!

Comment: Update to original review below: 6/16/21- Upon leaving the review below after the bad experience, the company owner and manager promptly reached out to me to apologize and issue a full refund for my order that day. Bad experiences happen at all places but not all places make it right or own up to it so quickly.Given the fact that I have had mostly great food hear aside from the noted visit above and one other, I decided to change my rating to 4 stars which is more in line with the service that this location usually provides.------------------6/9/21- Decent food if its made right. Today two high-school girls were back there giggling and playing around the entire time instead of doing their job and our bowls came out bad. Too much sauce and all rice pretty much.They have done better before, but all in all, this place rushes their service and messes up orders due to not taking enough time to make the dish. For what they charge they should pay more attention and try harder.

This location was very COVID aware and operated via a contactless ordering system. There were touchscreen kiosks located at the front entrance of the store for browsing the menu, ordering, and paying from the same spot. After ordering, my meal was packaged and placed at the to-go counter in 2-3 minutes.

Comment: I tried Motomaki for the first time a few days ago, I ordered a white rice build-a-bowl. It was delicious and all the ingredients were fresh! Friendly staff! I ordered online again today and they forgot my sauce. Not a big deal but I was bummed the sauce is really what makes the bowl complete. I couldn’t go back because I was at work and had gotten the bowl on my lunch break. I called and the lady I spoke to was Alex and she was so friendly and understanding. Comment: Do you like sushi...and a LOT of it? This is your place. The burritos are like giant sushi roles cut in half. The bowls are all your favorite ingredients, but you build the bite you want. Not exactly traditional, but absolutely delicious. Ive been to numerous sushi restaurants throughout the eastern slope, and this delivers great quality food with a totally different experience. If Chipotle ever starts offering sushi, it will be because of Motomaki did it first. I will definitely be a repeat customer and recommend to my friends.

Comment: I love this place.I love all the options and the fact that I can build my own. One time as we were going to a concert at Red Rocks we got burritos to eat there. I order mine with 4 kinds of meats. It was the bomb.I dont know how, but they were able to wrap it all and make it super delicious!!!I highly recommend them. It is a different way to eat sushi.

Comment: Sushi + burritos. Does it get any better than that? I tell you, ladies and gents, it does not. The art of eating sushi in burrito form does take some refinement, and there is no better place to practice this valuable skill than Motomaki. The shrimp tempura roll is my absolute fave, followed by the Hawaiian salmon poke and banh mi. Theyve also been very willing to make substitutions for me when necessary (subbing raw tuna for a different protein because I am pregnant, for example). Definitely worth the money!

If you dont want to build your own, just order right off the menu. I have tried most of he bowls offered, and have found the flavor pairings are excellent every time. Also, bowls are the perfect amount of food. You wont walk away hungry!

Comment: My husband, my son and I visited this place today and we LOVED it. I got the Crispy Eggplant roll, the Chicken Bowl and the kid did a build your own with tuna, salmon and softshell crab. I would order the mochiko chicken bowl to be delivered through uber eats, and a variety of other bowls while in the store.The staff is very friendly, the food is good, and the mochi is amazing. I think my favorite is #13 (the eggplant one).The food is always delicious, always fresh, and the staff are always happy to make changes/substitutions.The prices are super reasonable (especially during happy hour when the rolls/bowls are $3 off!). And if you become a sushi burrito addict like me they have an amazing rewards club!!The employees are always nice and helpful, and the restaurant is always really clean.All in all this is probably my favorite restaurant in the area and one of my go tos for sushi.

Just ordered two rolls and watched the short, fat guy with the black beard chatting with the three other people behind the counter for five minutes, while two of them ate, before he even started making the rolls I ordered. Comment: I love the food here - very fresh and fast service. However, the prices here are way too high compared to prices of poke bowls around the city (and a few other cities I’ve traveled to). Most places give toppings such as cilantro and green onions for free. Be prepared to pay $0.50 for a sprig of cilantro, $0.50 for a sprinkle of green onions and $1.50 for a few pieces of avocado.

Comment: My first reaction was the menu has a similar idea to Tokyo Joes, which isnt a bad thing! I like how you can build a bowl or a burrito, which I love sushi burritos! Today my boyfriend and I tried it for the first time, so he ordered a #5 kalbi & I just built my own banh mi, although they have one already on the menu. We both enjoyed the flavors of both bowls, and I noticed the happy hour specials between 3-5. I will definitely visit again, and am surprised we never went sooner!

Comment: This my first review, ever! Seriously, where do I start? Amazing customer service and super amazing food, simply delicious. Walked in for the second time today and was greeted by all the staff on the floor. Got my order, and within a couple of minutes I was out the door. I walked back to my workplace, and opened my food to get starting. Then I realized that my salmon wasnt grilled, and I can almost guarantee that it was my fault that I selected the wrong type of salmon. Anyhow, since I worked next door, I decided to walk back and get my grilled salmon in exchange for the sushi salmon. Well, I was amazed on how professional they all were. Nolan and Conner kept apologizing for not getting it right, although I am almost certain that I didnt choose the right type of salmon in the first place, yet they took the fall for it. #Shouout to Nolan, Conner, Ben, and Stuart. Simply amazing. What a great service they offer and super delicious food. These guys are dope. Will definitely return. Keep up that attitude you guys, it brings smiles. #Motomaki
