Comment: Food was okay but the presentation was lacking. The girl on fire roll should be lit at the table, but instead the flames were extinguished before they reached us. The service was slow, there were three tables including us and after our appetizer plate was cleared, the plates kept piling up. Our waitress spilled hot tea on one of us and not only didnt apologize but didnt bring a napkin to dry the spilt tea. I would understand if they were busy for the lackluster service, but it was mid-afternoon and the waitress seemed more interested in talking to the hostess rather than check on her tables. I would definitely recommend visiting during a busier time, maybe then there would be a bigger focus on the customer.Edit: I’m updating this review as I know it’s difficult for small businesses in these harsh times. Like I mentioned the food is satisfactory, and I would recommend a visit. Hopefully their staff has changed by now.

Midwest sushi was once unthinkable unless you lived in a big city, like Chicago. I can happily say that Wasabi gives em a run for their money. Pricier than your usual Edwardsville restaurant but worth every penny.

Comment: After over a year of no sushi, my wife and I finally succumbed to the crave while running errands in Edwardsville. After seeing our number 1 favorite spot for many years - Nori was sadly closed due to COVID. It had been a few years since either of us had been to Wasabi, so we thought wed give it another try. Glad we did! We arrived at 4:00 for dinner opening to be safe and try and beat the crowd. Reservations were required, so we called from the lobby and they got us sat down within five minutes. Safely distanced, masked staff, and thorough table cleaning after every customer was comforting, and allowed us one of the first few dinner outings in quite a while. A very prompt, warm and friendly greeting from the hostess was nice too! The menu choices were great and well explained, the atmosphere was pleasant, but most of all we were totally smitten by the incredible service by our busy server Marchyl! What an incredibly charming, energetic, genuinely friendly and efficient young person, with a great taste in music, as it was her song mix that soothed us over the wonderful dinner. We cant say enough about how enjoyable our experience was that night, part from the delectable appies, salad and roles, but also a huge part due to the amazing service! Thank you! Well definitely be back again soon!!!

Comment: I order take-out and visit this Wasabi every now and then. The staff are nice but I have gone during non-peak times when they didn’t appear to have more than one person waiting tables. That’s not an issue for me but to others it may be. I would rather have a quality, accurate order and a happy wait staff than end up flustered over something that is out of that particular individuals control. The dishes I order are always beautiful and tasty. My favorite things to get are the squid salad, stuffed avocado, and low-carb roll. They’re all delicious and priced just right. The margaritas are great as well!

Comment: Seating is a bit limited and tight. Nice furniture and appeal otherwise. Sushi was 4 out of 5, good but not like Wow. Lots of specialities, check out the menu before you go. Bonsai veggie roll really good. Glass of wine was $8, bit high for generic Pinot.

Comment: The service is always good. The fish is usually pretty fresh. I find the meals tend to be up and down - either excellent or mediocre. Todays lunch was blah. I wanted to love it more but the shrimp in the tempura seemed kind of bleachy tasting and greasy. Maybe I should just stick to raw fish.

Comment: We frequent Wasabi at least two times a month. We love the quality of the sushi in addition to the staff and atmosphere. Having visited a large number of different sushi joints in my travel, I am extremely happy with the fact this one is so close to home.
