Comment: This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the area. Ive been coming here for a year to pick up takeout and to eat in. The dish is flavorful and incredibly excellent. Every time, the meal is served really quickly. Excellent cuisine; the entire menu is worth sampling, but the curry and pad thai are my personal favorites. Good hospitality is shown. Friendly staff provides excellent client service. Love getting takeout or a quick bite here. Unquestionably a fantastic spot for Thai food.Update: there new location is awesome, lots more room but still the same friendly staff and amazing food

Comment: We have been dining at Zen for over 20 years. Highly recommend. Im an old Chef and I dabble in Asian Cuisine. It was nice to run into the owner at Global Foods, when picking up a few things to cook dinner. Have to say that Ive had some of the spicest dishes there, of course at my request. Comment: UPDATE:Zen just moved to a different location and omg the vibes of the new place is amazing. Modern decor and everything else definitely feels more upscale. The food is still solid and they added more drink options so that was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely be coming back to dine in more often!Compared to the other Thai restaurants in St. Louis Zen is definitely one of the best. The food is great and best of all the price is really inexpensive. The portions is good and the food comes out relatively quickly. However, when it gets busy its very clear the kitchen gets backed up making the food come out dramatically slower than usual. The service is usually good here. Everyone is nice and cheerful. I would definitely recommend Zen.

Comment: New site is wonderful, spacious but the Thai cultural wall decor is still in a box. They just reopened in the new location so I wont complain but I miss the elephants! I got the yellow curry with Tofu, level 2. Just the right amount of heat. Awesome! My husbands ginger tilapia also very tasty. Same menu and pricing, same gracious family. And if you ask for Thai tea with no ice because they cram the glass full of it they charge you a extra .75 cents after your bills for one is 40.00 and you come twice a week . And I’ve had a lot of curry’s. I also got an order of crab rangoon, also delicious and the dipping sauce that comes with it was sweet and tasty. With my order I also received miso soup and two spring rolls (I had no clue that came with my curry order ), but happy it did because those two items were also delicious!!! The turn into the lot was a bit nail biting as we were facing up a blind Hill to make a left at a blinking arrow to cross two lanes of busy traffic. Comment: A hidden gem tucked away in a dead strip mall. Excellent food and great service. Ive mostly ordered off their Thai menu and have yet to be disappointed. (I strongly suggest treating yourself to a meal here after you have made a blood or plasma donation across the parking lot at the American Red Cross.) I am not a Thai food expert, but whenever I have people familiar with thai food from around this country eat here they are always blown away. I have not had a lot from the Japanese menu but what little I have had was delicious. The sushi I have only had a couple of times and it was not super memorable. Yellow Thai curry and the drunken noodles are phenomenal. The spring rolls are a great starter. I have eaten here countless times, starting as a kid not long after they opened, and never once had a bad experience. The atmosphere when I dine in is very comfortable and the service is super friendly.

On Friday night I reheated salmon katsu, a bit of rice, a side of Panang curry sauce, steamed veggies, and Tom Kha soup with tofu. Both meals were delicious. Undoubtedly, though, the best part was the incredibly soft, almost buttery salmon in the Philadelphia Roll. The quality was astounding, especially considering the very reasonable price!I wish Id thought to get pictures of the salmon katsu meal, but was reheating things while working. I reheated the salmon katsu in the oven and microwaved the rest. That katsu sauce is phenomenal!

We have never had an issue eating there until the most recent time. We ordered pickup like we always do, and our order was ready when we got there, I wonder now how long it was ready before we got it. Comment: This was our second time. Our first time we all had drunken noodles and it was very tasty but we all way over estimated our spice tolerance. So this time we went back and all had level 1s and 0s. I think the level 1 this time was as spicy and last times level 3. We joking asked the waitress if those were level 3s and she told us that we could get a level 0 next time and they will bring the spice on the side and add what we wanted. Get to searching and came across this little hidden gem.Quaint little place with modern decor an a traditional touch of ancient relics on the walls.Open kitchen format. I could view who was back there and with a Cambodian wife I know the older generations hold the most delicious recipes. I was excited.Beef Jerky was amazing. Slight dip into some Sriracha and crisp lettuce hit right!Edamame came extra salty which I prefer.Crying Tiger was real good with the sauce.Lobster sushi roll was nicely done.Lobster drunken noodles looked amazing but before I could grab a bite my better half covered it in crushed red pepper and thats not my cup of tea.The service was very comforting and super respectful with a courteous bow of respect everytime something was dropped off. I like spicy food though.We were here the night before Thanksgiving and it was fairly crowded. The reason I took a star away is because they just didnt handle it well. Comment: This place is a hidden gem. As I walked in, I told my girlfriend I bet the sushi is good, they take care to ensure the fish stays fresh! I was not disappointed. Also got the lobster pad thai, they left it flexible so you could mix or have lobster and pad thai! The special very much lived up to its name.

Comment: Best Thai in St. Louis. Pad Thai is my personal favorite dish but everything Ive had is fresh, fast, and served with a smile. One of the hidden treasures of this place is the sushi which is amazing and so cheap. Come with the family or on a date. Its a great time.

Comment: Zen has been our go-to for take out for the last 3 years now. We started going for the pineapple fried rice. I love trying new dishes there and have never been disappointed . My boyfriend gets the pad Thai almost every time. We also never have to wait long when we order take out, maybe 20 minuets at most. Love, love, love this place!

Comment: Love the Thai curry! My wifes was a little too spicy, #2, but mine was perfect. And they corrected my wifes dish without hesitation. Staff is very friendly and even took time to explain how the curry spices rank. Will be back!

Comment: Very tasty!We tried the house Beef Jerky and Curry Puffs.The Beef Jerky meat was saureed with a hint of sweet, served with white cabbage and a spicy red dipping sauce.The Curry Puffs were wonderfully spiced, with a lightly sweet dipping sauce.I had the special Lobster Pad Thai, and it was simply fantastic.

Comment: I got a spicy tuna roll and the chicken pad Thai, and the roll came first. Roll was fantastic, each piece gave me pause as I savored. Pad Thai was great as well, spicy level 2 had me heated just the right amount. Wrapped up the meal with the pictured sticky rice with mango. Highly recommended.

Comment: This is an interesting jewel of a place to check out. I went here with a buddy to check it out and we both enjoyed it. Their food is delicious. Also since they serve multiple cuisines, there is a wide variety of food to choose from. The restaurant itself is quite quaint and clean. The staff took great care of us. This is a place I plan on visiting again.

Comment: I really like this restaurant. Nice staff, great food, even if Im typically unsure of what to get. The curry puffs were flaky, which I didnt expect, however. I do like the udon and soba though. Id recommend a first-timer potentially start there, unless they like lamb - in which case Id say start there as a friend ALWAYS gets that.

Comment: We stopped in at Zen for dinner on Saturday at about 6:30 pm. The restaurant is fairly small and hidden away in a strip mall. There were only 3 tables of customers when we arrived. We were seated in the back where an old western was playing on a tv. Our server was nice, but seemed overwhelmed trying to keep up with the number of customers.We ordered the Drunken Noodles (spicy level 3). The dish was tasty and the spice level was nice. I could have done without the pickled baby corn, but it was not a huge distraction. My biggest issue was the noodles. Im pretty sure we were served the noodles from a packet of instant Ramen. They were thin, curled, and lacked any kind of flavor.The Ramen issue aside, the rest of the meal was enjoyable, and we will be back in the future.

Comment: I went to this place for the first time for dinner. It was excellent. My husband and I both shared the Z E N roll and an entrée order of chicken spicy fried rice. Sushi is my favorite food and the sushi roll we ordered was definitely up to par on my standards. We will be back.

Comment: My favorite for Thai food in the area. Lots of options, but despite that I just keep ordering the curry. Casual, not usually too crowded. Plenty of great dishes without meat. We dont go there for the sushi, but that has been good every time weve tried it.

Comment: Our family of five LOVES Zen. My daughter begs for to go there. Ive been to many Thai restaurants and its one of my favorites. I wish the curry sauces were a little thicker, but the flavors are excellent. My recent favorite has been the spicy basil. Yum!

Comment: It truly is a proper Japanese/Thai fusion spot. Not too pricy, Family owned. Everything is good.. I recommend trying the Dragon roll and Panang Curry, definitely two of the best dishes in the house. the barbecue eel is also super delicious. Look out for the house specials, too.

Comment: Family Run business, Son waited on us excellent service. Made a mistake charging us for 1 on entree twice. Ordered Pad Thai & Eel & Rice, loved them both BUT The fried banana with sticky rice, Whipped cream and coconut ice cream drizzled with honey was to die for!
